- Throughout 2019 & early 2020, Hafren has been conducting a pilot course for the Prisoner Education Trust (PET) based around Mentoring. Two successful pilot courses have been conducted with learners achieving a Level 2 Peer Mentoring award. PET intends to roll out this course nationally and we look forward to supporting learners over the coming months.
- Hafren is proud and delighted to announce that our project working in conjunction with NJB Consultancy and HMP Prescoed has won the Inspire Award 2019 for best Community Project. The Chase Program is a remarkable Level 3 substance mis-use mentoring course that allows learners to both examine their own personal relationship with drugs and to mentor others with substance mis-use issues. This course has had extremely beneficial outcomes for the prisoners and the prison service with incredibly low re-offending rates and a considerable percentage of learners going on to work in the substance mis-use support field. Hafren is both the provider and accreditation partner for the Chase Program. Congratulations to Nev and the team!
- Another batch of work from Newport High School has arrived for IQA with the learners coming to the end of their Extended Certificate in Personal & Social Education. Well done to all involved, you've worked extremely hard this year.
- Congratulations to the Newport Community First learners who have completed their level 2 Classroom Assistant courses. Some excellent work and interesting evidence in the folders. Certificates on their way!
